Student Learning Opportunities

The Pinhead Internship is for high school students interested in STEM in South western Colorado. Internship is free and some students may receive up to 1,000 dollar scholarship if needed.

The Denver Zoo offers a variety of resources for teachers from field trips, at-school learning experiences to science activities and career FAQs. For the 2024 year, most facilitated learning programs are free.

Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom (also known as Colorado Foundation for Agriculture) is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to educating teachers and students about the importance of agriculture and natural resources in our daily lives. They provide resources for pre-kindergarten to 12th grade level.

The Museum of Boulder offers lesson plans, downloadable activities and local history references. Some examples include Indigenous People resources, Colorado Court System lessons, and Colorado History resources.

InnEdCO exists to inspire and sustain communities of innovative learners. We strive to tell the story of education innovation, risk-taking, and problem-solving across Colorado. We seek to engage in meaningful and ongoing institutional, district, school, and individual partnerships to connect and inspire educators to grow their practice.
Educators can also apply to the InnEdCO Ambassador Program to get extra benefits. -

The Denver Zoo offers three Teacher Professional Development courses to provide inspiration and education about conservation. Course titles: Phenomena in the field, Camp Conservation, and Project Based Learning: the Boreal Toad.

HVP trains and supports educators to partner with families with the overarching goal of unveiling a more complete, nuanced picture of each child and gaining insights into their unique goals and their relationship with school and learning. The relationships forged between educators and families become the bedrock upon which students’ social, emotional, and academic success is built, in a partnership. Home visits empower teachers to transcend traditional boundaries, prompting them to embark on a transformative expedition of empathy, connection, and understanding.

Minds Matter Colorado connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.

El Sistema Colorado offers free string and free music lessons for ages 3 - 18. The program is located in Denver's Curtis Park neighborhood and the after school program takes place on Monday- Friday 4:30- 6:30.

Youth Support Diversity offers virtual and in-person events, workshops, trainings and discussion groups to high school teens and educators to advance inclusion and justice in their school and local community.

Girls on the Run has fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others.
Art and Music Resources

Bringing Music to Life collects and repairs instruments and donates the instruments to schools across Colorado. Their mission is to provide every child access to the life-changing experience of making music.

The Future Arts Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that hosts the Bluebird Music festival, and other events. The proceeds from the events are used to supply Colorado schools with musical instruments and to host free youth art workshops.
